Frequently Asked Questions
Computer Analysis? How do I get my games analyzed?

Computer Analysis is an instructive feature that gives you an "expert opinion" on games you've played at Chess.com.  See where you (or your opponent) missed opportunities, and give yourself a chance to really learn from your mistakes!

Simply view any completed game: Live Chess or Online Chess (but not 960 games).  From here, you can click on the "Computer Analysis" link to the right of the board and above the Chat Window/Move List. This will submit the game for analysis by our chess engines.

Because the analysis is quite deep and the resources are shared by all Chess.com members, this process can take up to 24 hours to complete.  You will get a message when it is finished and you can view your results.

The Computer Analysis feature has different access levels depending on your membership at Chess.com:

  • Basic/Free: 1 Computer Analysis per week - with a search depth of 8 ply (estimated at 2000 strength)
  • Gold:  2 Computer Analysis per week - with a search depth of 10 ply (estimated at 2200 strength)
  • Platinum:  25 Computer Analysis per week - with a search depth of 14 ply (estimated at 2500 strength)
  • Diamond: 100 Computer Analysis per week - with a search depth of 14 ply (estimated at 2500 strength)
