What are conditional moves?
What are conditional moves?
Solution
Conditional moves are moves that are pre-planned by your opponent and which are automatically triggered. For example, your opponent might setup a conditional move whereby if you move 1. e4, he/she will automatically play 1...c5 in reponse. Then if you play 2. Nf3, they might have pre-arranged to play the move 2...Nc6.
Conditional moves can help move chess games along faster. If you feel you know what your opponent might play, then you can also setup conditional moves! There is a button called CONDITIONAL MOVES that is available only if it is NOT your turn to move. To setup conditional moves, simply make the move your opponent might make, and then the move that you would like to respond with. You can add up to 5 moves (10 ply) of conditional moves.
Basic Chess.com Members are allowed 1 conditional move line per move. Premium Members are allowed unlimited lines.
