How to change your Chess.com password

Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and include at least one uppercase letter and one number. For a stronger password, use a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

Web

  1. Click 'Settings' from the menu at the bottom left corner of any Chess.com page.

  2. Select 'Password' from the settings menu.

  3. Enter your current password to set up a new one:

Mobile

  1. Tap 'More' at the bottom right and select 'Settings.'

  2. Select 'Account' and then tap 'Password' at the top.

  3. Enter your current password and your new password.

  4. Tap 'Save Password' to apply the changes:

Security

If you are using a shared or public computer, always make sure you log out of the site completely before leaving the computer unattended.

If you forgot to log out from any device, simply click the red 'Log out on all devices' button on the Change Password page to sign out from everywhere:
