I'm experiencing harassment or other abuse in my club. What can I do?

Our goal for making clubs at Chess.com was to allow many different cultures to grow on our site. Many people have severe disagreements about what is acceptable behavior, and what is not, so by leaving that up to individual people, we felt we would allow these groups to grow and take on a life of their own.

Because of our desire for clubs to be private places for people to behave as they would like to among each other, we do not take any action for bad behavior within clubs. This means anything posted in club forums, or club notes, is something that should be dealt with within the club. We advise you to please contact the club admins about any misbehavior, and they can deal with it accordingly.

If the admins do not take action and you continue to experience harassment, we advise that you leave that particular club and find, or create, a club that is more in line with the behavior you’d like to experience.

However, if you are experiencing harassment, abuse, or discrimination anywhere else on Chess.com, including private messages from other club members, please report it immediately!

Click here to see our Fair Play, Good Sportsmanship, and Community Conduct policies, and thank you for helping to make Chess.com a fun and welcoming place for all!
