Why isn't my Apple or Google membership active?

Learn what to do if your Apple App Store or Google Play membership isn't active, or if your Chess.com subscription price seems incorrect.

My membership isn't active yet. What should I do?

If you purchased a Chess.com membership through the Apple App Store or Google Play and it isn't showing on your account, don't worry. In many cases, the purchase is active but hasn't yet been linked to the correct Chess.com account.

If you've purchased a membership but your account still shows a Basic membership, first check the following:

  • Make sure you're signed in to the correct Chess.com account.

  • Confirm that your Chess.com subscription is active in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

  • Verify that you're using the same Apple ID or Google account you used to purchase the subscription.

  • If you have more than one Chess.com account, check whether the membership was applied to a different account.

If your subscription is active in the app store but your account still shows a Basic membership, please contact our Support Team for assistance.

The price I was charged doesn't match what I expected

If the amount charged doesn't match what you expected, check the following:

  • Confirm that you purchased the membership you intended. For example, if you meant to purchase a Gold monthly membership but accidentally selected a Diamond yearly membership, the price will be different.

  • Check whether local taxes or currency conversion affected the final amount.

If you've reviewed your purchase details and still believe the amount charged is incorrect, please contact our Support Team so we can investigate further.

If you were charged twice through the Apple App Store, please contact Apple Support for assistance.
