Daily Puzzle
The Daily Puzzle is a chess puzzle that every Chess.com member can solve each day. Everyone receives the same puzzle, making it a fun and easy way to improve your tactical skills and pattern recognition.
As you solve the puzzle, Coach reacts to your moves and can provide a hint or reveal the full solution if you need help.
Once you've finished, you can scroll down to read and join the discussion in the comments. You can also go back and solve any you missed, as well as build a solving streak by completing a puzzle each day.
The daily puzzle is available to all members starting at midnight Pacific Time!
Where can I find the Daily Puzzle?
Web
To play the latest Daily Puzzle, hover over Puzzles in the left-side menu on any Chess.com page and click 'Daily Puzzle' to go straight to the puzzle of the day. Alternatively, if itâs enabled, click 'Solve Daily Puzzle' on the right side of the page.
Mobile
On the Chess.com app for Android and iOS, you can find the Daily Puzzle in the caroussel at the top of the Home screen. Just tap on it to start solving!
How do I see the previous Daily Puzzle?
Missed yesterdayâs puzzle or one from last week? No problem. You can revisit them anytime!
To view earlier puzzles, click the back arrow next to the date displayed on the Daily Puzzle's page.
Alternatively, click on the date itself to open a calendar and choose a specific puzzle date.
You can see which puzzles you've already solved by the check mark on the calendar date. The puzzle day you are currently viewing will be highlighted in green.
Streaks
Complete each dayâs puzzle to build a streak. A flame icon will appear on each dayâs calendar when you maintain your streak.
To keep your streak alive, you must complete each puzzle within 48 hours of its release. If you forget a day, you can still go back and complete the previous day's puzzle to maintain your streak, but do it quickly so you don't lose that flame!
My Daily Puzzle streak reset or didn't count. What happened?
If your Daily Puzzle streak reset or didn't increase after solving a puzzle, it's usually because the puzzle wasn't completed within the 48-hour grace period. If you miss a day, you can use the Puzzle Calendar to access recent Daily Puzzles and complete any that are still within the 48-hour window.
Once the 48-hour grace period has expired, our Support team isn't able to manually restore a lost Daily Puzzle streak.
