Not all puzzles end with a checkmate. Learn the different ways puzzles can end on Chess.com and how to analyze the position further.

We aim to make the puzzle's stopping point clear, often ending with checkmate or a significant material advantage.

In some cases, puzzles can end with a pending overwhelming attack or massive positional advantage. Occasionally they can end with stalemate or return to material equality (if the position warrants it).

If you are unsure of the results, you can click on the 'Analysis' () button on the right side of the puzzle to analyze the position more closely.
