Updated this week

Streaks on Chess.com

This feature is a public counter that tracks the number of consecutive days you’ve played or learned on Chess.com. Your streak increases each day you play a game (Live, Daily, Bot, or Coach) or complete activities like Lessons, Puzzles, or Game Review. If you go three days without doing any of these activities, your streak will reset. Keep showing up daily to maintain and grow your streak!

Even when disabled, your streak keeps increasing in the background, so if you ever decide to enable 'Show Streak' again, you might not be starting from scratch.

How to maintain your streak

You can perform one of these actions to keep your streak active, but keep in mind your Streak count will not increace more than once per day.

Streak pause

To help you maintain your streak we have implemented a two-day grace period. Here's how it works:

  • Streak paused: If you do not perform an action that would continue your streak at the end of a day, your streak will be temporarily paused instead of resetting immediately.

  • Grace period: During this two-day grace period, you have the opportunity to perform any qualifying action to keep your streak intact. This means you can maintain and increase your streak by completing a game, making a move in Daily Games, or playing against a Bot. This will unpause your streak.

  • Streak reset: If no qualifying action is performed by the end of the third day, your streak will reset to 0.

Lost streak on Chess.com

If a streak is lost, there are no ways to recover it so make sure to keep playing and learning every day to keep your streak going!

Streaks Widget

To help you track your Streak progress, you can also add the Streak Widget to your device’s Homescreen. This will inform you of the current progress, how long you have in the day to perform a qualifying action and whether the Streak is paused
