This feature was in a testing phase and has been temporarily disabled. We're working on improvements and plan to restart testing in the future!
Streaks on Chess.com
This feature works as a public counter that tracks the number of consecutive days you have played without interruption. Your streak increases each day you play, but if you miss playing for two days in a row, your streak resets. Keep playing daily to maintain and grow your streak!
Your streak will be displayed next to your username on your homescreen as well as in your profile. You can also see the number of days your streak has been active β The intensity of the flame will also change the more days you have your streak going!
How to Enable/Disable Streaks
You can turn on or off your streaks by toggling the option in your settings:
At the bottom of the Daily Chess Settings.
At the bottom of the Live Chess Settings.
On the settings menu in the Play tab: Click on the cog wheel next to the board, go to the 'Play' tab, and under the 'General' tab you will find the option to enable/disable streaks.
How to maintain your streak
You can perform one of these actions to keep your streak active:
Action
|
Details |
Complete a game | Any game type (including bots), time control, or variant. |
Make a move | In daily games or against the computer. |
Your streak count will not increase more than once per day.
Streak pause
To help you maintain your streak we have implemented a two-day grace period. Here's how it works:
Streak paused: If you do not perform an action that would continue your streak for up to two days, your streak will be temporarily paused instead of resetting immediately.
Grace period: During this two-day grace period, you have the opportunity to perform any qualifying action to keep your streak intact. This means you can still maintain your streak by completing a game, making a move in Daily Games, or playing against the computer.
Streak reset: If no qualifying action is performed by the third day, your streak will reset to 0.
If a streak is lost, there are no ways to recover it so make sure to keep playing every day to keep your streak going!
