How to change your Chess.com password

Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and include at least one uppercase letter and one number. For a stronger password, use a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

Web

  1. Click 'Settings' from the menu at the bottom left corner of any Chess.com page.

  2. Go to 'Account' in the Settings menu, enter your current password, and set up your new one.

  3. Click 'Save' to apply your changes!

Mobile

  1. Tap 'More' at the bottom right and select 'Settings.'

  2. Select 'Account' and then tap 'Password' at the top.

  3. Enter your current password and your new password.

  4. Tap 'Save Password' to apply the changes:

Extra Security

If you are using a shared or public computer, always make sure you log out of the site completely before leaving the computer unattended.

If you forgot to log out from any computer, simply scroll down to the 'Extra Security' section on the Account settings page and click the 'Log Out on All Devices' button to sign out from those browser sessions.

To sign out of all mobile devices, just reset your password or username from any computer or mobile device. The next time you open the app, you’ll be asked to log in again.
