Memberships in sanctioned countries

Learn about the countries where Chess.com cannot process payments due to sanctions imposed by OFAC.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

At Chess.com, we take great pride in serving the global chess community, connecting millions of players from every country around the world. This is why we regret that – due to sanctions imposed by the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) – we are unable to process payments from the following countries:

  • Cuba

  • Iran

  • North Korea

  • Syria

  • Venezuela

And we are also currently unable to accept payments from Russia and Myanmar, due to our payment processors ceasing to process payments from there.

We wish things were different, and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. If you are in these countries, we hope you will continue using Chess.com with a free account.
