Does move order matter when I'm looking at a position in Explorer?
Updated this week

No, the data you see in Explorer (i.e. related to typical continuations and the frequency of wins, draws, etc.) is specific to the position you are viewing, regardless of what moves you made to get there.

This is as it should be: What matters is what happens as a result of the position you are viewing; you are looking ahead, not backwards. If we showed you data for only one of several possible lines to the current position, you would be seeing information from only a fraction of the games in which that position appeared.
