ECO stands for the Encyclopedia of Chess Openings, which provides the most common system for categorizing all chess openings.

Despite having only 500 codes (from A00-E99), the system does a good job of segmenting openings. These codes help to organize chess games and openings, especially in game databases.

You can find all the openings here: chess.com/openings
