Spaced repetition
MoveTrainerÂŽ uses spaced repetition to help you learn effectively. When you answer correctly, the time between reviews gradually increases. If you make a mistake, the system resets the timing, giving you a shorter interval before the next review to reinforce the material.
Here are the approximate times:
Level
|
Wait time until the next revision |
Level 1 | 4 hours |
Level 2 | 1 day |
Level 3 | 3 days |
Level 4 | 1 week |
Level 5 | 2 weeks |
Level 6 | 1 month |
Level 7 | 3 months |
Level 8 | 6 months |
Each move in a variation has its own timer, meaning you can be at different levels within the same variation if you repeatedly get one move wrong.
Spaced repetition is widely recognized by scientists as one of the most effective methods for learning and retention. While it may feel repetitive initially, once you reach Level 8 for a move, you wonât see the same quiz for a long timeâprovided you continue solving it correctly!
What if I missed a review in one of my courses?
Itâs ideal to study as soon as a revision becomes active to fully benefit from spaced repetition. However, if youâre a bit late, donât worry. At most, you may get a position wrong, and it will reset to Level 1. Thatâs perfectly fine, it's better to make mistakes during your study than in an actual game!
