How to reopen your self-closed account
Many members choose to temporarily close their Chess.com accounts to focus on other priorities—like school or personal projects. If you’ve taken a break and are ready to return to your chess journey, we’re excited to welcome you back!
Follow the steps below to reopen your account and pick up right where you left off:
Go to Chess.com and click 'Log In' from the left-side menu.
On the login screen, enter your username and password as you normally would.
You’ll see a message saying your account is closed and you’ll be prompted to enter your username, email linked to the account, and password.
Click the 'Reopen Account' button. You’ll then be taken to a new screen asking for a six-digit code that was sent to your email.
Enter the code and, once verified, your account will be reopened. You can now log in and use your account like normal!
