How to Disable Timestamps

Timestamps on chess.com are a visual element that show a player how much time was taken for each move played in a game. This is displayed next to each move on the moves list, in both Live chess and Daily chess:

In the example above, the seconds taken by each player for each move are represented by the length of the colored bars, with longer bars indicating more time taken. In a Daily game, the number of hours or days would be shown instead.

However, if you prefer not to see timestamps during your games, you can easily disable this feature in your settings. Here's how:

Navigate to Your Settings

To access your settings, click on the 'settings gear' located on the bottom left corner of any chess.com page. This will take you to your settings page.

Alternatively, you can also go directly to the settings page for Live chess or Daily chess by clicking on the following links:

From either of these menus, find the 'Timestamps' setting. Note that in Live chess settings, you may have to scroll down to see this option.

Toggle the setting to off to disable timestamps. Once this is done, they will no longer be displayed in your active games or in your game archives.

After updating the setting, don't forget to click save!
