Insights is a powerful tool available to Diamond members that provides in-depth analysis of your games. It reveals patterns and statistics like your wins and losses, accuracy, common mistakes, and even the time of day when you're most successful.
How to view your insights
Hover over 'Learn' in the left-side menu and click on 'Insights.'
If this is your first time using Insights, a pop-up will appear. Click 'Let's Go!' to start the analysis.
Chess.com will analyze your games in the background, and you'll receive a notification when your insights are ready. You can safely leave this page, and as soon as your insights are done, you'll see a notification to come take a look!
To view your insights, first choose a type, time class, and date range of the games you want to see. will be populated based on those parameters:
Game requirements for Insights
Games need to meet the following criteria for them to be tracked and analyzed in Insights:
The game move count is at least 10 (5 complete moves.)
It is standard chess -- no chess960 or other variants.
The game was not aborted.
The game was not played against a computer.
The game was played by at least one user with insights enabled.
Understanding your Insights
Games
Feature | Details |
Overview | Here you can track several key metrics: Games played over time, average accuracy over time, accuracy by move number, and results by opponent rating.
Some sections also include additional tabs, where you can explore more detailed statistics:

Game Results | Here, you can view the percentage of games you've won by timeout, checkmate, resignation, or abandonment, as well as the percentage of games you've lost by those methods.
You'll also find the percentage of games you've drawn, categorized by agreement, repetition, stalemate, insufficient material, timeout versus insufficient material, and the 50-move rule.

Game Shapes | In the Game Shapes section, you can view your Games, Results, and Accuracy categorized by Game Shapes.
The games 'Shape' is determined by how the game was played. This is the shape of the graph in the Game Review Analysis.

Game Phases | Here you can see your percentage of games that ended in different phases, your accuracy per game phase, and the results of your games that ended in different phases.

Openings
Feature | Details |
Performance | Here you can see how well you perform in your 10 most-played openings when playing as White or Black.
Click the icon to be taken to the stats page where the games with the opening you chose were played. |
Mastery | This will show you the average number of book moves you make in a game when you are the one to leave the book first.

Tactics
In this section, you can view your statistics on Found vs. Missed Forks, Pins, Mates, as well as the pieces you and your opponent left hanging.
To explore these details further, click the icon in any of these categories to see a dropdown of your most recent positions. For example, after clicking the icon for the 'Mate in 1' stat and selecting the 'Missed' tab, you'll see a list of instances where you missed a Mate in 1 opportunity:
Moves
Feature | Details |
Move Quality | Here you can view the percentage of brilliant, best, great, etc. moves you've made. You can also track how your move quality evolves over time.

Pieces | This will show you how often you move each piece and your accuracy with those pieces.

Castling | Here you can see the number of games where you castle in the opening, middlegame, endgame, or don't castle at all. Additionally, you can see your results for each scenario, such as how often you win when you opt not to castle.

Calendar
Here you can view your games, accuracy, and results categorized by the time of day and day of the week.
These stats are based on the time zone you have set in your profile settings.
Geography
This section shows you a map highlighting all the countries you've played opponents from. Hover over each country to see how many players you've faced from that country!
You can also view this in list form by clicking 'List View.'
Privacy settings
Your Insights are visible to all members by default, anyone can look at your profile and see them. If you want to change this, you can go to your privacy settings, and set your Insights to be visible only to you:
