How can I fix freezing or other issues on my Android app?
Many issues such as freezing, slowness, or odd behavior such as missing, extra or repeated notifications can be fixed by clearing the cache and storage on the app.
Important note: Be sure you know your username and password before performing the below steps! Clearing the storage and the cache will log you out of the app, and you will need to log back in as if opening the app for the first time.
To clear the storage and cache, first exit the Chess.com app, and find the app in your Android phone's list of applications. Tap and hold on the app icon until the below menu appears:
Tap on App info.
In the next menu, select Storage & cache
In the next menu, tap on both trash icons to delete both the storage and the cache. Again, be sure you know your password before you do this, as this will log you out of the app.
Now, launch the app and sign in with your username and password. The issue should be resolved! If it is not, you may want to try reinstalling the app completely.
