I am a premium member! Why am I seeing ads?

Internal ads on Chess.com

All members, including Premium members, may occasionally see promotional content on Chess.com. This can include banners for Chess.com events, tournaments, and promotions for our products and partners, such as ChessKid, Chessable, and Dr. Wolf Teaches Chess.

Premium members will never see third-party ads or banner ads served through Google Ads, like the ones below:

If you recently upgraded to Premium and still see third-party ads, try signing out and back in.

How to hide the Chess.com promotional ads

As a Premium member, you can now hide promotional content on the main page and other areas of the site for a completely ad-free experience.

Web

  1. Click 'Settings' in the bottom-left menu on any Chess.com page.

  2. Select 'Notifications' from the left sidebar.

  3. Toggle 'Show Chess.com promotions' off.

    • To turn them back on, simply toggle the option again.

Mobile

  1. Tap 'More' in the menu at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Tap 'Settings,' then select 'Notifications.'

  3. Toggle 'Show Chess.com promotions off.'

    • To turn promotions back on, simply toggle the option back on.
