If you and a friend want to play chess in person but don't have a physical board, don't worry! With the Chess.com app on your mobile device, you can use the digital board to play together.
To get started playing chess with your friend, open the Chess.com app on your mobile device and tap New Game at the bottom of your home screen
Tap More and select Pass and Play
Choose the type of game you want to play: Standard Chess, Chess960, Custom Setup, or start from a Key Position
Toggle Show Best Moves if you want to see a selection of good moves.
Toggle Show Threats if you want to be alerted when a piece is under attack.
Toggle Board Flips if you want the board to automatically flip to show the current player's perspective. If you disable this, you will need to manually flip the board each move by tapping Options and then Flip Board
Press Start to begin the game!
