Chess Terms

Have you ever wondered what a bad bishop is, or what interference means? If you’re unsure about these or any other chess terms, you can easily look them up in Chess.com’s chess terms glossary!

  1. Hover over 'More' in the left menu on any Chess.com page.

  2. Select 'Chess Terms' from the list.

  3. This will open the Chess Terms Glossary, where you can browse through an alphabetical list of terms or use the search bar on the right to look up something specific.

    • Each entry includes a clear definition and, in many cases, a short article explaining the concept in more detail.
