At the start of each new live chess game on Chess.com, a brief animation will play, showing you the board and pieces setup of your opponent!

As in the above image, you will see your opponent's board and pieces setup, as well as their avatar and league division, and flair (if any).

After a few seconds this will disappear and the game will proceed as normal, seeing only your own board and pieces setup.

This is a fun way to get a sense of who your opponent is, by seeing how they set their board!

This setting also enables a 'You Win!' animation which pops confetti over the board:

If you dislike these animations, you can disable them in your Board and Pieces settings:
