Be nice, no cheating
Chess.com is a welcoming community for chess enthusiasts. We ask that you maintain respectful behavior while playing and interacting with others. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in account closure.
Interacting with members
Chess.com is a safe and enjoyable space for everyone. Please refrain from using abusive language, making personal attacks, issuing threats, or engaging in any unkind behavior.
Keep it clean
Posting offensive content on Chess.com, including in your username, avatar, or personal description, is strictly prohibited. This includes adding offensive comments, chat messages, or any other content.
The following behaviors are not allowed and may result in your account being suspended or banned:
Cheating
Using offensive or vulgar language
Engaging in inappropriate humor
Making personal attacks
Spamming or advertising competitive websites
Engaging in religious or political debates
Posting intentionally disruptive or irrelevant content
Discussing illegal activities (e.g., drug use)
Please help us maintain a respectful and enjoyable community for all.
No cheating or computer help
You may never use chess programs (Chessmaster, Fritz, etc) to analyze current ongoing games unless specifically permitted (such as a computer tournament, etc).
The only type of computer assistance allowed is games databases for opening lines in Daily Chess and Vote Chess.
You cannot receive ANY outside assistance on Live Chess games.
Second accounts must be approved by Support
Members may only have a second account with approval from our Support team.
Members who create more than one account without approval may have all accounts closed.
