If you encounter an issue with the site, like a feature that isn’t working correctly, or maybe you spot a typo, we encourage you to please report it or make a suggestion. This ensures that the right team can address the issue promptly!
How do I submit a bug report?
The fastest way to report a bug is through our Support widget. This sends your report straight to the right team:
Click Support at the bottom left of any Chess.com page to open the contact widget.
Select 'Contact Support,' then click 'Get Started.'
You’ll see a suggestion to check the Help Center; click 'Get more help' to continue.
Enter 'Report a Bug' when asked for keywords about your request.
You’ll see a list of common bug topics with quick fixes. If your issue isn’t listed, click 'No, my issue is not there.'
You'll now see the 'Report a bug' button. Click on it to open the bug-reporting tool.
After filling in the details, click 'Send.' Your bug report will go straight to our developers for review. Thanks for helping us improve Chess.com!
If you’re on mobile, you won’t see the bug-reporting tool, but you can still report a bug right in the chat window. Just describe the issue and add any screenshots or screen recordings. Be sure to include your device’s operating system (OS) and your app version number.
How to use the bug-reporting tool
After you click the Report a Bug button in the support widget, a pop-up will appear in the corner of your screen. This tool helps you describe the issue clearly. Check the table below for an overview of the available options.
Before you submit your report, don’t forget to add your email address. The development team usually doesn’t reply directly, but they might reach out if they need more details to fix the bug.

Screen record | If your bug report or suggestion involves multiple steps, you can use the screen recording feature:
Click the red 'REC' button to start recording —Your browser will open a window where you can select the screen to record, then click 'Share:'
Perform the actions on screen that you want to report and click the 'Stop' button to end the recording. Your recording will automatically be attached to your report. |
How do I send a suggestion?
If you have any ideas for new features that you'd like to see on Chess.com or any overall improvements that could be made, send them our way! We're interested in hearing your ideas!
Here's how you can do it:
Click 'Support' at the bottom left of any Chess.com page to open the contact widget.
Select 'Contact Support,' then click 'Get Started.'
You’ll see a suggestion to check the Help Center; click 'Get more help' to continue.
Enter 'Make a suggestion' when asked for keywords about your request.
If your idea isn’t already covered, click 'Submit a suggestion for a new feature.'
Write your suggestion in the text field and send your message. If you’d like to add more details (like screenshots or recordings), click 'Yes, let me add more.'
On web, use the paperclip icon.
On mobile, tap the + icon next to the text box.
Once you’ve added any extra info, your suggestion will be sent directly to our team!
