Reporting a bug on Chess.com
If you encounter an issue with the site, like a feature that isn’t working correctly, or maybe you spot a typo, we encourage you to please report it or make a suggestion. This ensures that the right team can address the issue promptly!
The fastest way to report a bug or to send a suggestion is through the Support widget —This will send your report directly to the appropriate team.
How to submit a bug report or send a suggestion
Click on 'Support' located in the lower-left corner of any page on Chess.com to open the contact widget, select 'Contact Support' from the options, and then 'Report a bug'
You'll now see a list of common issues our members report. Click on the one that matches yours. If your issue isn't listed or you'd like to send a suggestion, click 'Report a bug' at the bottom of the list.
Choose if you want to 'Report a Bug' or 'Make a Suggestion.' Choosing any of these options will open a pop-up window in the corner of your screen with the bug-reporting tool to help you describe the bug or suggestion:
Before submitting, make sure to add your email address in case the development team needs to contact you for more information. Most reports are not responded to, but the team may reach out if additional details are required.
Finally, once you’ve added your notes, highlights, or video recording, write a brief description of the issue in the 'Your suggestion or bug report' text box, and click 'Send.' Your report will be sent directly to the Chess.com developers for review.
💡 You can report mobile bugs using the same report form. In the text box, describe the issue clearly, and be sure to include your operating system (OS) and app version number.
How to use the bug-reporting tool
You can use the bug reporting tool to visually show us your issue or suggestion. Here are your options:

Click the red 'REC' button to start recording —Your browser will open a window where you can select the screen to record, then click 'Share:'
Perform the actions on screen that you want to report and click the 'Stop' button to end the recording. Your recording will automatically be attached to your report. |
