Analysis on Chess.com

Adding comments or alternate lines while analyzing a game is super simple! Here's how:

How to add a comment or icon

To add comments or icons to a move, right-click on the move in the analysis. From the menu that appears, select 'Comment' or choose any of the available icons.

How to add an alternate line

To add a variation, play out the alternate moves on the board, and they will automatically be added to the analysis.

Right-clicking on any alternate move also allows you to add comment before or after the move, add an icon, promote the alternate line to a main line, or insert a continuation, as shown in the image above.

If you've made a mistake and want to delete an alternate move, simply right-click on it and select 'Delete Move.'

How to save your changes

  1. Once you have added all your comments and variations just click 'Save' at the bottom of the analysis tab.
