๐Ÿ’ก Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be reversed, not even by our staff. Please think carefully before doing so. If you only wish to close your account rather than permanently delete it, check out this article: How do I close my account?

Important information

Deleting your account in this manner will permanently remove your data. However, Chess.com may retain some information necessary to exercise legal rights or comply with legal obligations. For example, if you have been banned, the minimum required data will be retained to ensure policy enforcement.

Your game records, comments, and public posts will not be deleted. Instead, they will be anonymized. If you want to remove forum posts, comments, or notes, you must log in and delete them manually before proceeding with the account deletion.

Any email or social media accounts linked to your Chess.com profile, such as Facebook, Google, or Apple, will be blocked. These accounts cannot be used to create a new Chess.com account in the future.

Deletion process timeline

The deletion process will take 10 days. During this period, if you sign in to your account, the deletion request will be canceled. To proceed with deletion, avoid signing in during these 10 days. After this period, the deletion becomes permanent.

Once the account is permanently deleted after 10 days, this action cannot be undone, even by Chess.com staff. Please consider this decision carefully before proceeding.
