How do I join the Beta?

If you’d like to try new features before they’re officially released, join the Beta and help us improve!

Join the Chess.com Beta

To join the Beta, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Your account must be at least 30 days old.

  • You must comment on or create at least one forum post or blog.

If you qualify, simply follow the steps below to join the Beta.

Web

  1. Click 'Settings' in the bottom left corner of any Chess.com page, then select 'Interface' from the left-side menu.

  2. Scroll down to the 'Beta Testing' section and click 'Enroll' to join.

    • You can leave the Beta anytime by following the same steps and clicking 'Leave Beta' instead.

  3. Next, join the Chess.com Beta Club to share feedback, report bugs, and discuss any issues you encounter.

The Beta program has limited spots. If it's full, the option to join won't be available. Check back later to see if space opens up!

Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store and search for the Chess.com app.

  2. Scroll down to the 'Join the Beta' section and tap 'Join.' Confirm by tapping 'Join' in the pop-up.

  3. After about five minutes, an update will install, and you'll be on the beta version of the Android app!

If you choose to leave the Beta, simply return to the same screen and tap 'Leave.' It may take about five minutes to be removed, after which you will no longer receive beta updates.

To fully revert to the regular version of the app, be sure to reinstall it.
