Reporting ads on Chess.com
At Chess.com, we work hard to keep ads safe and unobtrusive, but occasionally an inappropriate, loud, or disruptive ad may appear. If you see one, please submit a bad ad report so our team can review and block it.
Please submit your report using this form. We kindly ask that you do not email Support about bad ads, as the Bad Ad Report form routes your report to the correct team for faster review.
How to capture a screenshot of the ad
In some cases, we may need a screenshot to identify and block the ad. Use the instructions below based on your device.

Android | Press and hold the 'Volume Down' and 'Power' buttons at the same time for 1–2 seconds. Your screen will flash, confirming the screenshot was captured. |
iOS (iPhone or iPad) | Press and hold the 'Sleep/Wak'e button, then immediately press and release the 'Volume Up' button. Your screen will flash, confirming the screenshot was captured. |
MacBook | Press and hold 'Command + Shift,' then press '3.' This captures your entire screen and saves it to your desktop as a file named 'Screen Shot [date and time].png.' |
Windows | Press and hold the 'Windows + Shift' keys, then press 'S.' Use your mouse to draw a rectangle around the ad to specify what to capture. The screenshot will then be copied to your clipboard, where you can paste it into a document or save it as an image. |
Google Chromebook | Press and hold the 'Ctrl + Shift' keys, then press the 'Show Windows' key. This will capture the entire screen and save it as a file in your Downloads folder. Alternatively, you can press 'Ctrl + Shift + F5' to capture the screen. |
How to find the click-through URL
If we need additional details to block an ad, we may ask you to share the ad’s click-through URL (the link the ad opens). It often looks something like this:

To find it, try one of these options:
Right-click the ad and select 'Copy link address,' then paste it into the Chess.com Bad Ads Report form.
Click the ad, then copy the URL from the address bar of the page it opens.
