I bought my subscription through iTunes or the Apple App Store. How can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, due to the way Apple handles purchases, it is not possible for Chess.com to provide a refund for any purchases made through Apple. However, you CAN request a refund from Apple directly!

Request a refund using any web browser

  1. Go to Apple's problem reports page here
  2.  Log in with your Apple ID user name (typically your email address) and password.
  3.  Select the drop-down "I'd like to…"
  4. Choose "Request a refund" from the drop-down menu.
  5. Select Chess.com from the list of apps.
  6. Choose "I didn't mean to buy this" or "I didn't intend to renew my subscription(s)" from the drop-down menu.
  7. Follow the prompt to submit the problem.

Request a refund through iTunes on Mac or PC

  1. Launch iTunes on either your Mac or Windows PC.
  2. Click on Account
  3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password
  4. Click on See All under your Purchase History.
  5. Find the Chess.com app, and click More.  If you don't see the Chess app, you'll need to choose your date range from the drop-down under Purchase History.
  6. After you click 'more', click Report a Problem below the app name.
  7. Click on Choose Problem and select your problem from the menu.
  8. Follow the prompt to submit the problem.

Either way you submit, you should hear back from Apple within a few days to a week, and they will let you know if your refund is approved. It is completely up to Apple whether they choose to give the refund or not, and Chess.com can have no influence over the decision.
