How do I expand/collapse my sidebar?

Learn how to collapse your sidebar for more space or expand it if you're only seeing icons instead of full labels!

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Manage your sidebar

You can adjust the size of your sidebar to create more space for the page you're viewing. Similarly, if your sidebar only shows icons without labels, you can expand it to fully display the menu. Here are two ways to do it:

Use the 'Collapse/Expand' icon

If your sidebar is minimized, click the 'Expand' icon in the bottom left menu. This will restore the full sidebar, showing you both icons and labels.

To shrink the sidebar again, click the same icon, which will now say 'Collapse.'

Resize your browser window

If your sidebar isn’t fully visible and the 'Collapse/Expand' icon is missing, your browser window may be too small. To fix this, drag the edges of the window outward, click the square icon next to the 'X' in the top-right corner, or double-click the navigation bar to enlarge it.

This should either display the full sidebar automatically or reveal the 'Expand' icon, allowing you to adjust it manually.

These steps also apply to the Chess.com app if you’ve downloaded it through the Chrome browser. Check out this article to learn more!
