Unfortunately, due to the way Apple handles purchases, it is not possible for Chess.com to provide a refund for any purchases made through Apple. However, you can request a refund from Apple directly!
Request a refund using any web browser
Log in with your Apple ID user name (typically your email address) and password.
Select the drop-down 'I'd like to…'
Choose 'Request a refund' from the drop-down menu.
Select Chess.com from the list of apps.
Choose 'I didn't mean to buy this' or 'I didn't intend to renew my subscription(s)' from the drop-down menu.
Follow the prompt to submit the problem.
Request a refund through iTunes on Mac or PC
Launch iTunes on either your Mac or Windows PC.
Click 'Account.'
Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
Click 'See All' under your 'Purchase History.'
Find the Chess.com app, and click 'More.' If you don't see the Chess app, you'll need to choose your date range from the drop-down under 'Purchase History.'
After you click 'More', click 'Report a Problem' below the app name.
Click 'Choose Problem' and select your problem from the menu.
Follow the prompt to submit the problem.
Regardless of how you submit your request, you should hear back from Apple within a few days to a week. They will notify you if your refund is approved.
It is completely up to Apple whether they choose to give the refund or not, and Chess.com cannot influence the decision.
