How do I close my account?

We’re very sorry that you wish to leave Chess.com, if there is anything that we can do that would make you want to stay, please contact support and let us know how we can help before you decide to close your account!

Closing Your Account

If you would like to close your account entirely, you can do so by going to settings > all settings, which you can find in the bottom left of the screen anywhere on Chess.com.

From within the settings, select ‘Membership / Payment’ near the bottom

This will take you to your membership management page. Click on ‘Manage Account’

From here you will be able to choose to close your account after entering your password and a captcha to confirm your identity.

Please note that clicking ‘close my account’ will completely terminate your account; it is not for just cancelling your premium membership. If you have a premium membership it will appear on this same page, and you will be able to cancel your membership here.

Mobile

On mobile, first tap 'more' in the bottom right of your home screen, then tap Settings.

Then, from the settings menu, tap on Account:
